The magic of our offering lies in the harmonious combination of hot-cold-rest. First relaxing in the hot sauna maintained between 60 to 95°C, with the calming smell of the wood burning stove and the warmed alder cladding lining the walls. Then after about 10 to 15 minutes of soaking up the heat you leave the comfort of the sauna for the exhilarating cold. At The Heritage Centre (in Parkmill, Gower) you will be able to take a thoroughly refreshing dip in the mill leat (if the conditions are appropriate), alternatively climb into our five foot long metal tub of cold fresh water, or draw a bucket of water from the mill leat and douse yourself. Finally take some time to rest on one of our benches and take in your surroundings, before beginning the cycle again. This unique combination is designed to optimise health benefits and strengthen wellbeing.
A good sauna should nurture relaxation, it should be a calm space where you feel safe, a place where you can chat with fellow sauna users or sit and relax. Please read and follow our Sauna Hut Etiquette (found at the bottom of this page) to help make the sauna experience the best it can be for all users.
